Secretariat: (Bold Ruler x Something Royal, by Princequillo)
Ending a 25-year drought, Secretariat was syndicated for a record $6.08 million dollars and went on to become the 1973 Triple Crown winner. He is regarded as the greatest race horse to have ever lived and will forever rest at Claiborne Farm (Paris, KY).
His Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont times – as well as his 31-length margin victory – have not been approached to this day.
