It’s Motivation Monday, and the start to a new, short series of photos titled Equestrian Inspiration that will feature photos I’ve taken paired with quotes that have spoken to me and stuck with me through the years. This first image is titled Equestrian Inspiration: Focus.

Also, this is my first Color Splash edit, so it’s a little rough around the edges. If you’re going to judge it, judge it for what and how it makes you feel. That’s the purpose of this series.

Film direction, producer, and screenwriter George Lucas is probably best known for creating the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. He loved science fiction and comics as a kid and pursued a career in arts. When he left for college, he set a goal: he was going to be a millionaire by the time he turned 30.

Now, while the point of this post isn’t about money, it’s about drive, ambition, passion, and the key ingredient in turning dreams into reality: focus. Lucas’s focus on being successful and the best at his craft allowed him to push past any and all challenges that stood between him and his goal, which is a heck of a lot easier said than done. Achieving success is like riding a roller coaster of ups and downs. Though to some it may seem that Lucas achieved his overnight, he’d likely tell you otherwise. His focused allowed him to see the long journey through.

So, the next time you’re having doubts or feeling utterly exhausted and like you just can’t anymore, let George Lucas’s words speak to you:

“Always remember: your focus determines your reality.”
